IBAC is an international, non-governmental association which represents, promotes and protects the interests of business aviation in international policy and regulatory forums. IBAC represents the interests of business aviation worldwide. IBAC is an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) with permanent observer status with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the UN Specialized Agency for aviation matters.
Initiated in 2002 the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) is designed to promote use of high quality operating practices for international business aircraft operations. It provides baseline requirements for structuring flight departments and planning and conducting their operations; it challenges flight departments to review their current systems, programs and procedures, recognize strengths and weaknesses in those procedures, and upgrade to a higher standard. The standard is based on International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards that prepare the operator for both domestic and international operations.
The BAR Standard was developed to meet an identified need to establish a common global aviation safety assessment and audit protocol.
It is a risk-based model framed against the actual threats posed to aviation operations, particularly those that occur within challenging and remote environments. It directly links these threats to associated controls, recovery and mitigation measures as opposed to outdated and prescriptive formats previously used within a number of industries.
Whilst the program was originally developed to meet the needs of the mining and resources sector, it is also used by other organizations that use aviation to support their activities. These include government and humanitarian and other aid agencies.
The items reviewed during a BARS Audit are referenced and mapped to various sources such as the ICAO Annexes, the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and other authoritative material making it applicable to a broad category of aircraft operations.
Together with additional risk assessment tools, the BARS Program is a complete package to assist organizations with the management of their aviation risk and provides users of aviation support with the level of safety assurance required by their respective organizations.
The Wyvern Wingman standard is awarded to operators who operate and uphold The Wingman Standard. Developed and maintained by Wyvern Consulting, with aid from corporate aviation directors, The Wingman Standard contains the processes and operating parameters to which a Wingman Operator shall adhere. As a living document, The Standard is regularly updated to reflect the adoption of ongoing safety best practices and flying environments, worldwide.
SIA Global provides organisations around the world information that serves for managing risk, achieving compliance and driving business improvement. The ISO standard is a fully audited Quality Management System which meets the ISO 9001:2015 certification standard. The ISO 9001:2015 certification is recognised worldwide by Governments, Public and Private Industry and involves third party auditing of the organisations operation, systems and management.
